Ah the villains. Yes, the good ones are definitely more memorable than the heroes and the princesses. Right now, I am going to go with Khan as played by the late Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Why? Well for starters, the writers made this one so big, they put him in the title.
Second is the performance of Ricardo Montalban, who played Khan in the Space Seed as well as in the movie.
I recently went to see the film again with some ST fans in the theater and I noticed that in the Khan reveal scene the audience was dead quiet..so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I could almost feel everyone holding their collective breaths as the camera focused on the slow removal of the gloves, the face cloth, then at last, the head piece. They treated that scene with reverence.
I also note that the Khan from the Space Seed, felt completely different than the one from the movie. Obviously, the motivations were different. In addition, in the movie, he just seemed larger than life.
